New Beta: Version 6.3b1.

We've posted a beta version of the next CourseForum and ProjectForum release.

You'll see from the notes on the beta page that there are a couple of new features, particularly useful to people using web views and those who have been longing for a way to include mathematics in wiki pages.

The broader changes though are again in the WYSIWYG editor. For people who frequently went back and forth between the WYSIWYG and source editors, the previous version had some problems, particularly when it came to line breaks and spacing. We've significantly revamped how we handle that translation now, and it should be better behaved. We'd particularly like people to try that out, and let us know of any situations where switching between editors still doesn't seem right.

Slow adoption of Virtual Learning Environments.

Courtesy of long-time CourseForum user Ian Yorston, this BBC article talks about the resounding thud of VLE adoption, citing very high price, and very low perceived benefits.

Both the article and Ian's commentary are worth the read.
